Garissa Governor Nathif Jama directed the County workforce to dedicate their time by serving the public diligently and fairly by being present at their respective work station to avoid unwarranted public complains due to lack of their rightful services.
The Governor singled out Chief officers, Directors and all other county staffs to make sure they balance their office work which requires them to be physically available in their respective public offices and other duties that demands them to be out of their offices so that member of the public don’t mistake their absence as an act of truancy.
“It’s only fair for the members of the public to know at most time, public officers do get out of their offices to attend to other much important functions, which are equally of greater importance to them and every county Government staff is responsible of his duties ,and God will question him or her what he did for the opportunity given at that time” Jama said.The governor read the riot act to all county staff who converged at Garissa farmers training today (Tuesday ) saying that he will be keen to oversee and supervises the functions of all departments in the county administration for a prompt disciplinary action for any public servant who isn’t delivering what the task given adding that his administration has no chance for non-performers.
Governor Jama said the office of the country secretary was under strict scrutiny to preside over truancy and other non –communal business so as to ensure that every County public officer is accountable in terms of service delivery to the residents of the County. Days of hanging coats on the office chair and disappearing unnecessary from public offices are long gone.Recently Governor Jamaa Adam directed his deputy, Abdullahi Hussein to take charge of the county treasury to restore hope and transparency, and as well supervising county civil servants performance, monitor and evaluate all development projects undertaken by the county government in all seven sub-counties so as to ensure residents get value for their tax money.
The Governor challenged the county staffs to come up with a progressive work plan during this starting financial year and other innovative ideas that can catapult the County into prosperity and avoid engaging in idle talks in the social media, which has no value to the progress of the County which has been marginalized for the last 50 years.
